Dream Factory (PC)

Gamers have been looking for a good Hollywood game to be released ever since The Movies made its entrance in 2001.

There is Showtime and Movie Studio Boss: The Sequel but they are not made in the style of The Movies although they do got that movie studio ruling feel so they can be enjoyed for hours on end.

Dream Factory was released by The Tambourine on November 3 2015 and while it was rough looking, it held some promise like most Early Access games show when they are usually first out of the gate. The game got its first and only update on November 5 that year and while it fixed some issues that users found like spacing out a list of released movies when they were previously on top of each other, the game was still a long way from completion. Gameplay starts with two buildings, one is your Depot and the other is a Hall where you are standing in. First step click on Construction icon (first icon) and go across to draw building and click and drag to build your first room and wait for the room to be completed before selecting the door option (in Construction) which allows the floor to be built then you should hopefully be allowed to assign the room by right clicking on it. It sounds easy but there is major problems with the game for example workers get stuck going place to place, the speed settings are no good, producing a movie is difficult when the options are in gibberish so you basically make a movie of who knows what and hope it does well. The $ sign is even in the wrong place and all you see is a bunch of people standing in a room, you don't see a movie actually being worked on or a person at a desk as items are just sprites to put in a room. There is also no sound in the game and that puts off many gamers who expect at least some kind of sound. There is not much else to say about this game because either you've done everything quickly or the game jams up and becomes unplayable.

If you have brought the game and you're wondering what to do so you can make your money worth something, try doing the nine tips below to get through the game. 1. Don't try to speed up the game, it jams the workers. 2. Regular speed is quite slow so you can build what you want to build then go eat lunch etc. 3. Workers do get stuck on a corner, try building a new building to free them. 4. Build a room and a door in construction then add the floor in rooms, right click on the completed room to assign it as the room you want.

5. A day in the game is only a few minutes on the game clock. 6. You'll lose money quickly but will make a profit just as quick. 7. If you make a mistake with building a path, you have to wait until they build it before you can delete it. 8. Items can be rotated by using your mouse wheel. 9. Saves cannot be overwritten, you have to save a new game every time. As it stands, If you see a game made by The Tambourine, Do not buy it because Dream Factory, Cyber Team Manager and The Legions of Rome are three games made by them and none of them have been completed. This game is a great reason why Early Access games should be brought with caution, there is little accountability if a finish product is not released or the game is abandoned in Early Access. Rating: 0 out of 5.
