Battle: Los Angeles (PC)

Battle: Los Angeles is a game that is based on the movie of the same name. The game is exactly like the movie but cut down so all you have to do is play all the action scenes from rescuing civilians to destroying the alien's Command and Control Centre. For those who have not seen the movie, the Earth is invaded and the US Armed Forces are trying to take back the city of Los Angeles, you are part of a small group of US Soldiers who are trying to get to civilians hiding in a Police Station. Unlike most games based off movies, it appears that Battle: Los Angeles was made on the cheap with the cinematics drawn instead of being CGI or shot Live Action.

Players get to use three weapons, a rifle, a sniper rifle and an RPG Launcher but you do get to use a turret twice in the game. One of the toughest parts of the game was having to press down 'E' while trying to kill the Aliens, it should of been the right mouse button instead. Overall, all you have to do is run, find cover, shoot a lot of bullets at an alien to kill it and keep on moving.

There is no health bar on the game, just a direction finder, grenade count, weapon selection, player stance and ammo count and the only way you know you're in trouble is if the screen starts turning red and your heart rate goes up. This game is short, so short that you can finish it on normal mode quicker than the time it actually takes you to watch Battle: Los Angeles with the game completed in around an hour. So if you're looking for a quick hour lunch game, this is it but if you want something like Call of Duty, look elsewhere. Rating: 1.5 out of 5
