Bomber Crew (PC)
Bomber Crew is a game by Runner Duck in which gamers get to play as the crew of a Lancaster Bomber and take part in missions over Europe in WW2.
The game's campaign is split into seven parts and players get to do missions such as location downed pilots, dropping off supplies for the French Resistance, bombing airfields, taking recon photos and more. It is very important to make sure in 'Crew Gear' that all crew members are wearing the proper gear for altitude and protection purposes.
This is a fast paced, tough game, players have four gun turrets to choose from and stations such as radio/radar, navigation, mechanic, pilot and bombardier. With the pilot you can take off, land, raise and lower the landing gear, abort a mission, order the crew to bail out or prepare for emergency landing (don't forget to lower the landing gear) and do things later on in the game such as emergency dive, evade flak and more. Gunners as they get more experienced can focus their fire or fire their weapons to drive off German aircraft. The mechanic checks how much fuel is left but also later in the game if installed can activate fire extinguishers to douse engine fires that can cause you to lose an engine if left unchecked and they can also raise or lower fuel consumption. The plane can also have electrical and oxygen failure as well as engine failure and leaking fuel and require the mechanic to repair them, do not dive the aircraft if your man is on the wing. Radio/Radar detect fighters and later on they can tag the fighters for you, radio for an additional mission or call in Spitfires but you must radio the Spitfires at least a minute before getting into a dogfight as they take time to arrive from Britain. Every successful mission allows you to buy upgrades like more powerful weapons, engines, stronger fuselage and more but it should be noted that your stock standard Lancaster does not come equipped with parachutes so buy them to ensure a chance of your crew being safely rescued should your plane break up in flight. The further into the campaign, the tougher the missions as different types of German fighters appear but if you want to slow the game down you can by pressing Ctrl in game to slow the game and allow your crew to engage the enemy easier. The only potential cons in the game we can think of is that the you are the only bomber in the air compared to historical missions having dozens if not hundreds in the air and you can also pick women in the game when historically they weren't allowed in combat. As said earlier, Bomber Crew is a fast paced, tough game but its success has ensured that there is talk of adding DLC's that will allow players to play in a B-17 though many praise the game for being about Bomber Command and not the USAAF.
