EmergeNYC 0.6.1 (PC)

EmergeNYC is a very ambitious emergency service game that Flipswitch Games is currently putting together. The premise of the game is that it allows players to play as Emergency Services in NYC and that includes FDNY, NYPD and EMS. As of this present moment the game is up to Pre-Alpha 0.6.1 with the 0.6 series now allowing gamers to fight fires after previously only getting to drive vehicles around and walk around. EmergeNYC is a game that is resource intensive, gamers with a basic computer will struggle to play the game as it needs massive resources just to keep the FPS up. Flipswitch Games has tried to even things up for gamers by launching the 'Fire Academy' which players get to play on a smaller map and fight fires that you can set off by enacting scenarios for five buildings as well as rubbish, bus and car fires.

Windows can be broken, doors can be forced open and you can cut through locks to open roller doors. One tip is that if you want to put out the fires on the second floor, get a fire engine with a ladder and get the ladder to knock the windows out. Players grab what they need from the sides of the trucks, it is important the user always holsters every item after use otherwise it disappears. Hose mechanics are yet to be implemented but gamers can just take the nozzle and fight any of the fires. At the moment the NYC map is disabled, this is because Flipswitch Games are putting emergencies into the map so users get the full experience but those who watch development stream on YouTube have seen the work happening at a great clip of speed.

As you would expect with pre-Alpha games, there are a lot of bugs but they are working on them every day to prevent things like your fire engine rolling over after leaning on it. We look forward to updating this entry as further updates progress.
