SimAirport (PC)

SimAirport is a PC game by LVGameDev LLC that is currently being made under Early Access conditions. The premise of SimAirport seems so simple, run and airport but it is so much more complicated than that. Gamers can select whether they want to build their airport by scratch or start with an established airport.

The icons on the bottom left are for building, zoning, money, research, picking flights and schedule. On the top is how much money you got, customer satisfaction, airline satisfaction and weather. The banking section is useless unless you build an office and hire a CFO to run the financial aspects such as getting loans and getting a full analysis of income and expenditure. The amount total on the screen can tell you the basic income and expenditure totals but it is incomplete. If you do hire a CFO and you do get a loan, it is $8000 interest a day for the maximum of $100,000 the repayment does not include loan repayment as you got to repay it manually. A maintenance section is important to build as your equipment will break down, expanding your airport is expensive for even a small section so use your finances wisely.

For small airport gates like the two you see above, you can get aircraft up to B737 though if you pack your schedule full of flights your two pre-built security scanners will be overwhelmed, passengers will be late or flights delayed and airline satisfaction drops. Expanding your airport costs a lot, first you got to put the foundations in, then you put a zone in and then the equipment you need. The game also has a thriving workshop on Steam where you can download airlines such as QANTAS, Jetstar and Virgin Australia. Overall SimAirport is a fun game, it does have its bugs with problems such as shops not trading after loading a saved game but for a game that in development it is going really well Rating: 4 out of 5
